Peter Schuitema with his favourite style 'Nick Straight' Wash up Col. 211 Roughed up
We asked Kuyichi's International Sales Director Peter Schuitema a couple of questions:
What do you think about the current Bread & Butter?
"Positive. Our both is smaller but is more open now. The walking area is wider now, people are less stressed. They have more time and I've noticed that they are more focused now."
What's new in the a/w 2013 collection?
"With our new collection we're back were we come from: focusing on details like buttons and stitching threads. Real denim lover goes to details.
Beside organic cotton we focus strongly on other fibers like hemp which uses less water. Recycling is important. Recycled polyester, tencel. Our latest thing is the denim cycle. The best thing to do now is recycle as much as you can.
Marketing Manager Rosemarie Hup: "2001 we started as the first denim brand using organic cotton. We started an organic revolution, we inspired others to do the same. And now you can see other brands do that. Which is good but you should develop further. Sustainability is not a trend, not a marketing concept."
