K-Swiss Si-16
The Californian tennis-shoe-goes-sneaker label K-Swiss has dusted off some almost forgotten prototypes from its archives that were designed as part of the development process for the legendary Grand Slam Court Ruler Si 18 at the end of the eighties.
Under the working titles Si-16 and Si-17 the experimental draft designs will be coming onto the market in the coming spring, in slightly modified form. Although they bear all the other unmistakeable hallmarks of the legendary S-18, they are pretty sleek with slender lifestyle soles instead of the fat cushioned functional soles of its forerunners, and are available in various vintage colourways. The three models will be available in selected scene and lifestyle stores.
