It is certainly tempting but really somewhat simplistic to call Montreal the Paris of North America. Despite the fact that the residents of the capital city of Quebec have just as much savoir-vivre as their former compatriots on the Seine, they really do dance to a different beat despite their common language. J’N’C editor-in-chief and photographer Andy Rumball explored the streets, cafés, bars and shops of the city and had quite an eye-opener.
What's new?
'Recycling is the new new!' – in the opinion of K.O.I. Kings of Indigo mastermind Tony Tonnaer and he may well be right. Plus: married couple Girbaud invent a laser cannon and instead of the F.B.I. or the C.I.A. it's the fashion industry that's interested. Plus: it's all in the milk! Fashion made of QMilch.
What else?
- 'Fashion is bad for your health!' A health feature about the good and the not so good aspects of the garment industry.
- 'When the rubber hits the road...' – what's going on with the rubber kings at Aigle?
- Let’s go shopping: on a shopping spree in Cape Town, Berlin and New York.
- Hell or high water, early birds or golden silence. The fashion shoots for autumn/winter 2012/13.
