Going for gold! Crisis or no crisis – Barcelona believes in itself. And it has every reason to – even two decades since the Olympic Games when a veritable wave of investments washed over the harbour city. And this is not only demonstrated by Barcelona's 4000 restaurants; the Mediterranean metropolis also astounded us with its choice of shops. J'N'C explored the narrow side streets of the Born, Gótico and Raval barrios and checked out the hip Barceloneta neighbourhood. What we discovered: 20 inspiring hotspots and the realisation that as an architecture fan, it's not easy to choose between Antoni Gaudí and Jean Nouvel.

What's new?
Pretty much everything in the Creative Room. After all, here in the idyllic town of Castelfranco Veneto, is where the world's biggest denim producer Isko comes up with the trends of tomorrow. Gerlind Hector met the two very charming hospitable Italians behind it all and found out exactly what goes on behind the scenes.
"3D design in the realm of denim is still relatively uncharted territory. We are the first to actually go there, and we will continue to do so," said Pierre Morisset, head designer of G-Star Raw, in an interview with J'N'C's editor-in-chief Ilona Marx.
"Brands are made in retail and not in mono-brand stores. So I am appealing to the brands to support their retailers: it will be worth their while!" Karl-Heinz Müller speaks in favour of dedicated retailers and explains what the 'Connect' motto of the upcoming July summer edition of Bread & Butter is all about.
Plus: We met up with Raffaello Napoleone, CEO of the Pitti Uomo for an interview, and are also giving you previews of the Premium tradeshow in Berlin, Modefabriek in Amsterdam and Gallery in Copenhagen.

Plus:
Think you're getting the message? Then check out what the people are wearing first. In 'Look Who's Talking!' Fredericke Winkler explains how we communicate via our choice of clothing and how even a rust-coloured merino twinset can express what we're feeling, plus why the modern man of today can often be found scratching his hairy chest with painted fingernails.

And:
Without words: the shoots that took our photographers to London and New York, as well as to a go-kart racing track in Berlin-Neukölln.
Plus: 32 street styles from Milan to Paris and three retail profiles from Copenhagen to Bologna.
