The French label Surface To Air has managed to get Kim Gordon on board for a collaboration on a new women's collection coming out this month for women who never miss a beat. For those of you who don't know, Kim Gordon is Sonic Youth's legendary bassist and an artist in her own right.
The collaboration was sparked by a concert, where the label's crew noticed that the musician was rocking it in a pair of their boots. Kim, who has spent much of the last 30 years in a tour bus and was already an X girl in the 90s, overseeing the women's line of Californian streetwear label X-Large, and in 2010 designing a capsule collection for Sportmax, had exactly two wishes where the development of the line was concerned: the clothes should be ideal for combining with each other, and they should be able to fit into the luggage rack of a bus.
The result? A twelve-item collection consisting of a soft leather jacket, neon orange trousers, T-shirts with illustrations by Gordon, as well as black and brown snakeskin boots.
J'N'C can't wait to see the results.
