Sound aesthetes listen up! The British label Atomic Floyd, founded in 2008, is releasing new headsets that seamlessly fit into a five-part series of high-end devices: the superlative Super Darts In-Ears.
The thing that differentiates these small earphones from others is not just their design but also their premium workmanship. Out of a love for music Atomic Floyd use high-end materials with regard to their function, in order to design earphones that are as sturdy and high fidelity as possible. Titan, Kevlar®, rust-free stainless steel and even gold not only provide the earphones with un-breakability but also an extremely smooth exterior.
The technical high point of the sound quality however lies in the speakers: instead – as is usual – of only using two, the label uses four speakers, which offer the best frequency response to be had at present on the market for compact headphones. So the highs are crystal clear whilst the bass tones come over nice and fat and deep. We tested the sound with an iPod and felt like we were standing right in the middle of a practice room next to the band.
Of course the price, around 250 euros, certainly isn't cheap – but the sound technology and design behind the Super Darts are definitely worth the investment.
