And once again there's a collaboration that we don't want you to miss out on: the German label
Flip Flop, renowned for its thong sandals, has been getting cosy with the London knitwear label
Cooperative Designs.
This September a limited edition of the cult flip flop classic is being released, which combines handicraft with digital and automated processes, thus unifying the theoretical contrasts of the two brands.
The two designers at the British label, Dorothee Hagemann and Annalisa Dunn, who have already put collaborations with
Stefanel and
Hussein Chalayan on the market, have designed a heel-sock made of a melange knit, whose pattern is repeated on the insole of the sandal. In order to create the effect, the hand knitted sock was scanned in and printed on the insole via laser printer.
In this way, the classic thong sandal is transformed into homewear for cooler days, or casual street-style in between seasons.
