In August, Nike Football organizes its 'The Chance 2012‘ youth competition for young footballers. Running parallel with this is 'The Chance Nike Sportswear' competition to support talented up-and-coming filmmakers. Young filmmakers are offered the possibility to look behind the scenes of the football competition and to accompany the prospective professional kickers cinematically.
The goal is to develop coherent documentary film concepts which go far beyond tournament reports. None other than the legendary director Spike Lee is going to choose the winner of the film contest in Barcelona.
But before going to the Catalan capital, the applicants have to be chosen by the national jury. The jury for Germany, Austria and Switzerland consists of the rapper Marteria and the renowned photographer Paul Ripke. They also serve as mentors, who will provide support to the talented filmmakers until the final in Barcelona.
Until April 1st, applicants can document their ‚Minute of Football‘ in cinematic form and submit it via This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it . Among all entries submitted, three of the most talented new filmmakers are selected. The chosen ones have the possibility to demonstrate their creative ability during the application and scouting phase of the football competition. The best is going to be at the national ‚The Chance 2012‘ final from May 17 to 19, 2012 in Munich and will accompany the two finalists up to the international final in Barcelona cinematically.
J’N’C wishes good luck to all participants.
