Fauteuil Antony, 1954/2012
Anyone who is visiting the world's most important furniture fair today, Salone Internazionale del Mobile in Milan, should definitely stop by the Vitrastand. In collaboration with the Dutch denim label G-Star Raw, the Swiss furniture manufacturer shows there a new piece from the Raw Prouvé furniture collection.
The chair, Antony' was designed in 1954 and is one of the last furniture designs by the French designer Jean Prouvé (1901-1984). ‚Fauteuil Antony’ impresses by its conspicuous dynamic design, which is why he was called 'seagull chair'.
The ‘Prouvé Raw' collection is a reinterpretation of the classic furniture and was presented for the first time at Art Basel in June 2011. It consists of 17 designs, of which nine are now commercially available in a numbered edition. Now the armchair 'Fauteuil de Salon' and the table 'Compas Direction' have also been added and can be purchased at select Vitra retailers.
