On 2 May 2012, the family-owned business from Pirmasens, flip* flop, opened a new store in Cologne. In addition to locations in Amsterdam and Berlin, the shoe and fashion label is now located on Ehrenstraße.
As with the previous flip*flop stores, a lot of attention was paid to individual design. Managing Director and co-founder of the company, Anne-Katrin Hummel, was as creative director not only responsible for the collection, but also designed - in cooperation with the Cologne office Cliquers - the creation of the 100-square-foot boutique.At first glance, the shop looks like an art gallery with its simple white interior; chirping birds and ornamental flowers are among the small but crucial details of the interior decoration. Another eye catcher is the white shelf grid, which presents the shoes carefully sorted by color. And who carefully looks around, will here and there discover the flip*flop logo on walls and panels, as a cut-out or punch. The graduate architect Hummel definitely succeeded in designing the store!
