The German designer Michael Sontag and René Storck participate in Europe's preliminary decision to the prestigious International Woolmark Prize. The price of Australian Wool Innovation (AWI) was first awarded in 1954 to Karl Lagerfeld and Yves Saint Laurent. Today, before the international final, five regional award ceremonies will take place in Australia, China, India, Europe and the United States.

On 12 July 2012, a star-studded jury in London chooses the prizewinner for Europe. In the European jury are Christiane Arp, editor in chief of Vogue Germany, Alexandra Shulman, editor in chief of Vogue UK, the designers of DSquared2 collection, designer Giles Deacon and Tim Blanks of Style.com. The global winner of the International Woolmark Prize 2013 is going to be determined in February 2013. His outfits will be exhibited a little later at leading retailers around the world, including Eickhoff at the Königsallee.
