Almost everybody knows the colourful prints of the Finnish textile and clothing design company Marimekko. They decorate not only furnishing fabrics and tableware, but also clothings, bags, accessories and recently even theatre and google. Now the multi-skilled team from Marimekko teamed up for the fifth time with Converse.
Cult models like Chuck Taylor All Star and Jack Purcell Helen have been reinterpreted by the three Marimekko designers Vuokko Eskolin-Nurmesniemi, Annika Rimala und Maija Louekari. You can choose between the subtle Pirput parput-pattern by Finnish design icon Vuokko Eskolin-Nurmesniemi which is one of the most beloved prints of the 1950s. Or Marimekko's modern classics Kippis and Siirtolapuutarha by Maija Louekari. Or Annika Rimala's Papajo, inspired by Maya temples that Rimala saw on her trip to Mexico.
The Converse x Marimekko collection is available at selected Marimekko stores and online at www.converse.com
