Recently the Mallorcan footwear label Lottusse presented the new ‘Lotusse Selection 1877’ line in its flagship store in Düsseldorf. This exclusive collection is completely manufactured at the Lottusse headquarters in Inca, at the heart of the island, where 135 years ago the Mallorcan shoe label was founded. Lottusse’s Selection 1877 range is all about handcrafted shoes, which are made according to the original Goodyear procedure with continuous double stitching.
Furthermore , an anti-humidity treatment for the sole allows that the flexible sole can be worn on a rainy day. The production of each shoe requires 130 working steps. The painting process is also carried out manually by Lottusse’s craftsmen. They hand-dye the leather in a special process: soaking leather in paint, absorbing the pigment, drying tinted leather and repeating the dying process several times. Among the colour choices are: blue, red, green, grey and brown.
A further special feature is the personal embossing of the shoes. What’s about the Spanish term for good luck? ¡Buena suerte!
