via detaildaily: The classic Vespa had better watch out for the competition: at the DMY International Design Festival in Berlin MINI presented its Scooter E Concept.
MINI was present at various locations at this year’s DMY. The main attraction of their festival appearance was the trade stand in Hangar 7, where MINI presented its vision of urban (electro) mobility with MINI Scooter E Concept: with this design study the MINI design team fully demonstrates its ability to meet the challenges of mobility in large urban spaces head on.
The MINI Scooter E Concept is more than just a scooter in MINI design – it matches the need of a young generation for spontaneous, flexible C02-free mobility. The concept uses a smartphone as the ignition key and an integrated infotainment system, communications system as well as navigation.
The MINI Scooter E Concept is powered by an electric motor, which can be recharged at any standard power socket with the accompanying charger cable. The MINI Scooter E Concept was developed in three different designs, under the supervision of Adrian van Hooydonk, manager of BMW Group Design, all of which were presented at the DMY trade stand.
Also presented for the first time: the MINI Hampton special edition. All photos: BMW Group / MINI
