The fact that nature defines our concept of what is beautiful is clearly confirmed by this lamp by Swedish designer Markus Johansson: it goes by the name of ‘Cirrata’ and is based on the shape of an octopus.

The lamp is one of a series designed specifically for public spaces by the design graduate from the University of Gothenburg. Made of Corian, Cirrata appears to be almost weightless and only the tips of its feet touch the ground – floating like an octopus through the oceans. via Detail Daily
