For its ‘Blank Canvas Edition’ the London street fashion label Fred Perry has joined forces with British pop art icon Sir Peter Blake and brought out a limited series of three polo-shirt styles. The artist, who was born in 1932, achieved cult status with covers for records like ‘Sergeant Pepper‘s Lonely Heart Club Band’ for The Beatles or ‘Stanley Road’ for Paul Weller.

He has been described by the German newspaper Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung (or FAZ for short) as the ‘Papa of Pop Art’. Another legendary artwork, ‘Self-Portrait with Badges’ from 1961, in which Peter Blake is wearing a red Fred Perry shirt, served as the source of inspiration for the polo shirts.

The colours are based on the original red-white-navy colour palette and adorned with striking patches and prints. Each one of the shirt styles, which are limited to 1000, is consecutively numbered and signed by Peter Blake himself. A must for all fans and collectors!
