To mark the homecoming to their birthplace of New Haven in Connecticut on the American East Coast and the new store opening in the city, for the spring-summer 2012 season casual and sportswear legend Gant is launching a limited re-release of its original Oxford Cloth Button-Down (OCBD) from the sixties.
Although the silhouette of the iconic shirt made from lightweight archive oxford in 100% cotton has changed over the decades, the locker loop, button-down, button on the back of the collar and fabric fold have always remained significant design features.
With a woven label from the sixties and packaged in a nostalgic box, the Yale Co-Op Shirt will be available from January 2012 in 14 different models, including stripes, minimal checks and coloured Tattersall checks – always with a hint to the sixties.
And you can bet your bottom dollar that it won’t only be the elite students from the neighbouring Yale University who will love this traditional East Coast style …
