The Rubik’s Cube: a classic patience puzzle which has caused many of us desperation and frustration in our attempts to solve it! And now a Rubik’s Cube for blind people has been created.

Designer Konstantin Datz has embossed all six white sides of the magic cube with Braille – spelling out the words of the colours on the original cube: red, blue, green, yellow, white and pink. Here’s what the designer had to say: “This design of the famous magic cube is an attempt to adapt the timeless toy to the needs of blind people and to allow them to “feel” the colours.” The idea behind forgoing the use of colour is to show people who can see how difficult it is for visually impaired people, as this version is just as difficult to solve for those who can see as the classic cube is for blind people. A prototype of the cube is currently being exhibited at the MoMA in New York until 7 November.Via Detail daily
