From autumn/winter 2011 Wrangler Blue Bell will be working with a different artist for every collection. As Wrangler jeans are ‘made in the U.S.A.’, this autumn Blue Bell is teaming up with new pop-art artist David Buckingham from California, who creates sculptural paintings from old metal parts.
For his artworks David Buckingham prefers to use metal with the richest patina possible. He trawls in deserts or scrap yards searching for parts of old machinery, cars and planes, which have a certain used-look caused by weathering. And this fits in perfectly with the authentic denims by Wrangler. So it makes sense that Wrangler commissioned the artist with the creation of two special works of art in his studio in Downtown, Los Angeles that experiment with the brand’s logo and American symbolism. We’re already eagerly awaiting the follow-up to this successful cooperation!
