Almost ten years ago Puma’s classic ‘Suede Mid’ took Japan by storm. The brand from Herzogenaurach in Germany was supported by the Japanese sneaker store mita sneakers, which has been causing a sensation with its own releases and a hand-selected portfolio ever since the eighties.
As part of the new collab the Suede Mid was treated using the traditional Japanese Aizome dyeing technique, which involves the material being dyed several times in a row, giving it a deep but slightly pale blue tone that is reminiscent of vintage denim.
The model’s inner sole is adorned with mita’s wire fence graphic and every pair comes with alternative laces in the same colour as the upper, as well as a contrasting pair in mustard yellow.
