Dutch denim brand G-Star is presenting its newest invention: the 5620 Dimension Jeans. And they offer a lot more than merely simple denim. With their 3D volume the jeans resemble more of an architectonic construction.
G-Star’s head designer Pierre Morisset was inspired by motorcycle apparel of the twenties and thirties, which, in his opinion, perfectly combined flexibility with comfort.
In G-Star's version the jeans undergo a complex procedure whereby the seams are first prepared by stretching or shrinking. Every pair of jeans is then fitted on a mannequin and finally baked in an oven (we’re not kidding!) This helps them to retain their 3D shape and fit the body better. Admittedly: when they’re not being worn they do look a little strange, but from mid-November we’ll be able to try them on and see for ourselves!
