Already well established in North America and Great Britain, the US-American label Anthropologie is coming to Germany: however, initially only in its virtual form with a German language website and online shop.
Last week the launch was celebrated in Berlin's Barcomi's Deli with tea, champagne and hand-iced cookies. The café, owned by kitchen goddess Cynthia Barcomi, was decorated in true Anthropologie style: a mix of vintage inspired items and bohemian chic. The label was founded in 1992 by Wendy McDevitt and Wendy Wurtzburger and has 152 shops worldwide at present. The weekly changing product range includes fashion, accessories and home accessories. As well as their own collections, products from cooperations with labels like J.W. Anderson, Alison Heyhoe, APC, Rützou, Mardi Jeudi and Gat Rimon are also available.
