The hand-knitwear label Maiami is guesting at Berlin's Oona Gallery with its temporary shop for the fourth time now. After various knitted-room installations presented under the title 'knitted shop', this winter the focus is on selected products. 'The Ice Storm/Handmade Edition' is a small collection of carefully selected key pieces, which Maiami has developed especially for the Oona Gallery.
The handcrafted objects are all made of fluffy mohair and are pleasantly voluminous thanks to large-gauge stitches. The colour spectrum covers crystalline ice hues with a few bold bright colour splashes, reminiscent of Ang Lee's filmic masterpiece 'The Ice Storm' from which the Maiami knitters got their inspiration. The handcrafted one-offs, amongst them three selected pieces from the Interieur line, can be admired today from 6pm until 21. January 2012.
