Even the most die-hard purists sometimes crave coloured patterns in their lives. We recommend the ‘Black Holes’ series, designed by New York artist Ryan McGinness for American bag maker Incase. With his psychedelic-style drawings he is exploring outer space, the inner space of the mind and ‘ueber fanciness‘, as he puts it.
McGinness has gained renown for his vibrantly coloured work, featuring a wild mix of pictograms, company logos and contemporary iconography that is meanwhile exhibited at such well-known museums as the MOMA in NYC and the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts.
