A meeting with the legendary James ‘Mo' Wax’ Lavelle gave the ingenious brains behind the Amsterdam label Denham the Jeanmaker the idea to give their Advisor Parka a musical aspect. Colour-wise, the limited special edition orientates itself on the Indochina theme from the summer collection 2012, but with new materials.
The indigo-coloured, rubberized nylon material is sourced from Italy's famous finishing factory Limonta. The lining is printed with a hand-painted tiger-camouflage pattern, and embellished with a line out of James Lavelle's song, ‘The Answer’. Being printed in mirror image, this is not instantly apparent.
The idea for the hidden message came once again from the Denham archive: in the Second World War English ladies wore floral and paisley patterns, adorned with hidden wartime slogans.
But as if that weren't enough: the Californian electronic accessories collective Frends has contributed a pair of headphones to go with the parka. The headphones are a premiere of the new lighter models, which come with innovative memory foam ear cushions made of comfortable mattress (!) foam and the highest audio fidelity for headphones of this size.
As of now the parka together with the headphones is available for around 700 €.
