This is the slogan adorning the new popular shirts in the ladies' boutique of Peek & Cloppenburg and designed by Alexandra Kiesel, winner of the aspiring young talent award "Designer for Tomorrow by Peek & Cloppenburg Düsseldorf 2011". On 18 January 2012 the young designer will be presenting her own first fashion show at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week.
For her collection entitled "Baukasten Individualisten 12/6/24" (or "Building Blocks Individualists 12/6/24"), the 29-year-old Berliner took her inspiration from Bauhaus artists, craftsmen, musicians and a museum visit to Paris. From this mosaic she has compiled a collection of simple materials and classic tailoring, shaped by details like shoulder pads and narrow belts. Her goal is for the wearer to find and design their own personal style. The supporting programme offered by Peek & Cloppenburg has opened up doors into the fashion industry for the young designer: a new atelier, a short trip to the fabric trade fair Première Vision in Paris, numerous workshops and an insight into the studio of Marc Jacobs in New York. Every fashion girl's dream!
