Creative and full of elegance – that's how fashion label Custo Barcelona presented itself to the VIPs at Mercedes Benz Fashion Week in New York recently. The Spanish label is renowned for its surprising combinations, extravagant tailoring and vibrant colours. And Custo Dalmau let his creativity run wild this year too.
The autumn/winter 2012/13 collection is all about wool, which the Spanish designer focused on in the most diverse of ways – as geometric shapes or combined with graphic patterns. Instead of flashy nuances this time he is opting for more natural tones like green, red, brown and ochre.
The front row at the Lincoln Center included beaming guests like the New York socialite Tinsley Mortimer, actress Torrey Devitto, Miss Universe and supermodel Almudena Fernandez, who all allowed themselves to be inspired by Custo's extravagant show and transported into his world without rules.
