Visitors to Berlin’s Galeries Lafayette department store can look forward to a generous Christmas helping of fashionable, cultural and culinary treats from the Canadian region of Québec. Under the motto “tradition meets modern” you will be able to immerse yourself in the ‘savoir-vivre de Québec’ from 8pm tonight.
With a fashion show, photography and poster exhibitions, a jazz concert and smooth minimal groove-electro-dub tunes spun by different DJs, the store is presenting the most eastern province of Canada, which is not only the biggest in the country in terms of area, but also has the most French-speaking inhabitants in America.
An array of noteworthy Québec labels will be showcased at the defilé de mode at 10pm. The list includes the enfant terrible Denis Gagnon, who gained acclaim beyond Canada’s borders for his spectacular leather and silk creations, not to mention the avant-garde luxury brand Marie Saint Pierre from Montréal, menswear label Dom Rebel, the coat specialists from Mackage and ecolux label Harricana par Mariouche, which has specialised in the recycling of old furs.
The two kidswear labels Deux par Deux and Perlimpinpin are presenting brightly coloured designs pour les enfants and the “Rolls Royce of Canadian winter boots” Pajar will be there to show off its latest footwear models. And last, but not least Suite B by Blush Lingerie, with everything you need for a seductive festive season.
