Calling all boardsport friends! The Vans Wängl Tängl Contestival is celebrating its ten-year anniversary and inviting you to join in the festivities at a big birthday bash. From 17 until 24 March the idyllic winter sports resort of Mayrhofen in Austria will be transformed into one huge party – with plenty of fun and games to keep everyone occupied.
The main part of the festival is of course the snow and skateboard contests. Visitors can take part in open qualifications and battle it out with the best crews of the scene. And the winners will be rewarded with a generous five-figure sum of prize money, a variety of awards and plenty of fame and glory.
As the event is not just a contest, but a Contestival, as well as lasting a full week Wängl Tängl also offers a whole host of other festival features. The focus is on music and art.
Awaiting visitors are open-air concerts by DJs like M.O.P. and Seether. The most varied line-up of artists and turntable acrobats will be taking the stage by storm with hip-hop, rap, reggae, funk, jazz, soul and rock. And if all that isn't enough, you can also have fun at the street festival. Or you can pop to the Vans Looking Sideways gallery where work by the best artists of the boardsport scene will be exhibited. And you'll even be able to look over their shoulders while they create new pieces.
