Journalism graduates Isabelle Braun and Lena Grossmüller can breathe a huge sigh of relief: their exhibition entitled Frontrow Revolution – Fashion Journalism 2.0 in the NRW Forum Düsseldorf has now drawn to a close and there's a lot to celebrate.
The young ladies from the AMD Academy of Fashion & Design focused on the transformation and democratisation in the fashion industry for their final thesis: and turned the museum into a student salon. Equipped with smartphones and tablet PCs the total of 700 visitors became part of the installation themselves, as they were given the opportunity to blog, comment and share. The open editorial office offered an insight into the everyday lives of fashion journalists. The exhibition presented, inspired and questioned: magazine or blog? Turning pages or clicking? It was left up to the visitors to decide.
And on Tuesday all graduates from the same year group presented their own small exhibition of final theses: booklets and photo editorials were showcased at the salon on the final evening. With roses the journalists expressed their gratitude and bid farewell to their lecturer Ina Köhler.
The success of this young project is extremely encouraging and we hope to see more of the same in the future.
