From 18 to 22 April 2012 the city of Milan invites for the seventh time fashion and music fans to the Elita design week music Festival. Under the motto 'Work hard, party harder', the festival incites the visitors to take a break from the bustle of everyday work, enjoy live music and to see art with their own eyes. The festival is held parallel to the renowned Milan furniture fair Salone del Mobile, which will guarantee an international audience in addition to the artists, designers and music lovers. Musicians such as Matthew Herbert, Skrillex, Richie Hawtin and many others provide electronic beats. The venue is spread over several locations: a series of events such as live concerts, lectures, debates and art installations are at the headquarter, the Franco Parenti Theatre. But also the Nike Stadium or unusual locations as the newest Hostel in Milan, Ostello Bello deliver a varied program.
On the last day, the creations will be presented by one of Elita specially compiled selection of young designers. The best work receives the 'Elita Design Award'. Among other things, star photographer Rankin will support the festival. His newly published magazine, The Hunger, will present a selection of the best films of Issue One at the festival.
