Everyone who is in Berlin next week will certainly come across the red-white-NTR posters. Behind this eye-catching motifs is no other than street art legend Shepard Fairey, who, for the nonprofit organization the Keep A Breast (KAP) within the Non Toxic Revolution campaign, points to environmental hazards that can cause breast cancer.
The busy graphic designer, illustrator, streetwear label owner (OBEY clothing), magazine publisher (Swindle magazine) and DJ started with the legendary "Andre the Giant Has a Posse" sticker campaign, and is probably well known to everyone since the Hope campaign for Barack Obama in 2008. He supports the Keep A Breast Foundation for over ten years. Also, for personal reasons: Fairey already lost two aunts to breast cancer and his mother survived the disease. For NTR Studio Number One, Faireys designed a limited edition of poster sets with six different designs. They show various danger zones, whose harmful substances can move into our body: 'Your House', 'Your Mouth' 'Your Body', 'Plastic Sucks' and 'Heart and Soul'. The latter was designed by Shepard Fairey and personally autographed. Another image depicts a Statement logo with the words "Non Toxic Revolution". In addition to the massive illustration of the city within the breast cancer prevention advertising campaign, which also includes NTR screening in Berlin underground, an exhibition will also take place at the Strychnine gallery, Boxhagener Strasse 36 in Berlin-Friedrichshain. From July 6 to August 4, not only works by Shepard Fairey and Studio Number One, but also works by artists from Berlin will be shown there. In addition, the local pop-up shop products of NTR and KAB can be purchased.
