Tomorrow visitors to Antwerp's Middelheim Museum can look forward to a special artistic titbit: the Austrian artist Erwin Wurm together with Belgian fashion designer Walter Van Beirendonck. As part of the ‘Performative Sculptures’ project they will be creating living, temporary sculptures together, where visitors are encouraged to join in and become a work of art themselves.
The human body is a central theme for both artists, as well as clothing, with which the boundaries of shape, volume and freedom of movement can constantly be examined. The 'Performative Sculptures’ are part of the Erwin Wurm exhibition with the title 'WEAR ME OUT', running from 29. May to 25. September. Definitely a date for your diary!
