Artist duo Sarah Cooper and Nina Gorfer travelled through rural Kyrgyzstan and brought back not only countless photos, but also a collection of myths and legends. The results of this journey, documented in photos, will be on show at the Gestalten Space in Berlin until 27 November.

Their ‘My Quiet of Gold’ exhibition shows photographic installations that move fluidly between reality and imagination. The works, which are at the intersection of painting and photography, visually interpret stories full of romance and melancholy in non-linear ways.

Sarah Cooper from the US and Nina Gorfer from Austria met during their degrees at the University of Design and Craft in Gothenburg in Sweden. In addition to their art projects, they have been working as directors, authors and photographers ever since.

Join them on their journey documenting stories of love, sorrow and betrayal from rural Kyrgyzstan!
