In the hallowed halls of New York's Parsons the New School for Design the launch of Patrice Farameh's book "New on the Catwalk" recently took place. Famous alumni from the renowned design school include fashion greats like Tom Ford, Donna Karan, Marc Jacobs as well as successful newcomers like Lazaro Hernandez and Jack McCollough of Proenza Schouler.
The book showcases the work of the most promising young designers from the top fashion schools world wide, like the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp, London's Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design. Amongst them are also labels we have been praising here, Kilian Kerner und Perret Schaad.
The book explores their varied inspiration and intentions with short interviews, succint quotes and, of course, pictures of their work. The book starts off with a major interview with Parson's head Simon Collins about what makes a successful designer. An exciting read for fashion fans who want to stay up to date!
"New on the Catwalk" is published by the Daab Verlag in Cologne and costs 75 Euros.
