Lamp 'blub' and tealight banderole 'Night on earth' by Christian Lessing
The biggest design festival in Germany, the DMY, is taking place for the ninth time tomorrow in the light-flooded halls of Berlin's Tempelhof airport. New designers will be presenting their work alongside established design icons in the field of product/interior design and exhibiting future-oriented multidisciplinary projects.
What counts here is quality: the exhibitors are handpicked by an international jury consisting of well-known designers: Jerszy Seymour, Werner Aisslinger and Jurgen Bey, as well as Ilkka Suppanen and Catherine Geel. This year the Düsseldorf-based product designer Christian Lessing has made it into the selection and will be showing a range of his narrative objects in hangar 7: lamps that show city nightscapes for example, or reveal themselves to be globes or speech bubbles. Go see!
