This lavishly-designed pop-up picture book serves the camel active field service as a presentation tool for the new store concept called 'Roadside'. 3.8 kg weighs the handmade pop-up book and conveys in 14 chapters the history and idea of the shop fitting concept.
Inspired by travels to distant countries, different furniture, wall units and supports shall be presented as punched cardboard forms in front of exotic scenery. Thus, a provisional-looking rack made of steel and canvas from Bolivia is next to a cart that could also be on the market in Malawi and a shoe-seat, as it is located in Mumbai.
With the help of a built-in media player the traditional movable book format gets a contemporary, digital update. It shows the virtual derivation of the concept, from the trip up to a store, so that traders get a better impression of how their camel active area could look like in future.
The concept of the pop-up book comes from the Hamburg agency Donkey Communication. Illustrator and ‚Pop-up Engineer' Jonas Schenk was responsible for the technical implementation of the unusual presentation solution.
