After creating fish scale-style bags from old truck tarpaulins for their current Reference collection the Swiss bag label Freitag is now turning plain-coloured strips of tarpaulin into bags for their upcoming spring/summer collection. Start off by taking in a show by designer Markus Lupfer over a glass of sparkling wine and then go and strut your stuff to the live set by model/it-girl/DJane Daisy Lowe – sounds too good to be true? Think again! Because that's exactly what the second Fashion Net Night is offering, on Saturday, 23 July for the second time at Düsseldorf's Halle 6.

Sea anemones, shells or even ancient diving bells? For her A/W 2011 collection the Hamburg designer Jessica Schröder is diving into the depths of the sea, figuratively speaking at least. Long blonde hair, sweatband and tennis racquet: 30 years after his legendary successes on the court, even the most obstinate sport haters and under-40s will be familiar with the Swedish tennis icon Björn Borg. If you were out and about in Düsseldorf’s city centre last Saturday, you would have been able to meet the seventies sporting legend a whole nine times. To commemorate Germany’s first store opening in Düsseldorf’s Kö-Galerie shopping mall, nine Björn Borg doubles, scantily-clad in Björn Borg underwear, were in action from morning to evening.

Berlin, Gendarmenmarkt. As if from nowhere masses of people – completely dressed in white – suddenly flock to the square, laden down with tables, chairs, tablecloths, food and drink. If you belong to this circle of the chosen few – former participants and their friends – shortly before the start on Saturday evening at 7pm you would have received information about the location via a closed Facebook group. It quickly became clear that this year’s Dîner en Blanc would be taking place at the Gendarmenmarkt.
