The Avant/Garde Diaries is a new video blog, a sort of digital interview magazine with the aim of portraying the international avant-garde that was initiated by Mercedes-Benz. To celebrate its launch the German car manufacturer from Stuttgart organised a three-day festival curated by none other than Raf Simons.

With his minimal creations Berlin-based street artist and graphic designer SuperBlast has been causing a sensation beyond the German capital’s borders for quite some time now and has already exhibited his work in Moscow, Barcelona, Brooklyn and Bordeaux.

Under the title 'Rave is over' the Gestalten Space in Berlin, located in the Sophie-Gips-Höfe, is showing two projects by Berlin-based photographer Martin Eberle. With his legendary “Temporary Spaces” in the nineties Eberle documented the club scene of a reunited Berlin, which was characterised by an array of ephemeral and nomadic establishments.

On Sunday 24. July 2011 in the Tanzhaus NRW in Düsseldorf the Fashion Net Düsseldorf e.V. Education Center took place for the first time. The event organiser, Fashion Net e.V., has set itself the aim of establishing a public information and education centre for fashion and lifestyle.

For four years now the Düsseldorf hairstylists from ‘Stresemann’ have been providing the city’s residents with unconventional haircuts. Holger Hölkeskamp and Björn Hartung work to create a compressed fusion of the most diverse styles, whereby the influences, much to the pleasure of the constantly growing fan community, are taken from classic, modern and pop culture references.

Classic, timeless and feminine are three words to describe the work by head designer Lene Borggaard for Danish label InWear. The label and the designer have won the 2011 Guldknap Award, a Danish fashion prize that honours national fashion designers who have succeeded in appealing to an international audience.
