What are wearable cosmetics and why is fashion design from Asia so popular at the moment? This and other interesting questions will be answered at the second Fashion Net Education Center in February 2012 in the German fashion capital.

The Cologne-based furniture label Droom is bringing two new collections on to the market, created by the red-blooded designer Dirk Kels - right on time for the biggest German design event “Passagen 2012”.

Berlin's progressive fashion tradeshow is moving to the Kühlhaus venue in Berlin-Kreuzberg. Twice a year during Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in Berlin the Seek Contemporary Fashion Tradeshow presents around 60 young brands. This time the list includes Fred Perry Laurel Wreath, Patrick Mohr, Surface To Air, Pop CPH, Airbags Craftworks A2, Ambivalent and Sixpack France on two floors over a total area of 1000 square metres. The Kühlhaus was built in 1900 and has been used as an international art and communication venue since last year.

Hamburg-based designer Jessica Schröder is as imaginative as ever: following her "Arctic Sea" collection last year she is returning to dry land from the depths of the ocean and heading for the vibrant, romantic world of nature with her third collection.

Gender equality? It might already exist on paper – but what about inside our minds? Amrei Andrasch and Dea Dantas asked themselves this question for their thesis in communication design. And the result is a web project entitled “Entschubladung”, which translates as “Thinking outside of the box”.

Jeans maker Meltin' Pot is now splitting its seasonal collection into two age-appropriate lines: Icons and KLSH are already in the starting blocks for autumn/winter 2012/2013.The Icons line represents the pure DNA of the brand – a mix of the tradition and evolution of the high-quality Meltin' Pot denims. It offers a wide spectrum of modern basic models inspired by old-school jeans culture and reminisces about the magic of the good old days.

This is the slogan adorning the new popular shirts in the ladies' boutique of Peek & Cloppenburg and designed by Alexandra Kiesel, winner of the aspiring young talent award "Designer for Tomorrow by Peek & Cloppenburg Düsseldorf 2011". On 18 January 2012 the young designer will be presenting her own first fashion show at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week.
