Marcel Ostertag started off the last day of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week 2012 in Berlin on Saturday with the presentation of his shining, vibrant designs. The “Golden Muse” theme of his 2012/13 autumn/winter collection was very much evident on the catwalk: loosely draping blouses and slim-fit dresses and skirts in muted colours like blue and green underlined shimmering highlights and different patterns.

For all those of you who can't be there live at the Michalsky StyleNite, from 8pm, J'N'C will be broadcasting a livestream of the show. This time three fashion shows are planned: for the first time, the traditional Munich-based label Roeckl will be presenting its autumn/winter collection together with boots specially designed for the show by Berlin-based shoe designer Ferdinand Tiffert. The Museum of Communication in Berlin is being transformed into an laboratory for denim experiments this evening. As part of a fashion performance, seven colleges from Germany and Switzerland are presenting their research results in the form of 119 looks. Cuts and material are the parameters with which the aesthetic depths of denim are being plumbed.

Giraffes, horses on spikes, human figures, or a road sign that has mutated into a flower. The tape sculptures in public spaces by the US-American artist Mark Jenkins aim to irritate. This evening in Berlin's Gestalten Space the first German solo exhibition of the street artist, who lives in Washington, opens with 'Glazed Paradise'. Mark Jenkins will be present, giving us an insight into the sources and creative process behind his tape works.

Stylist’s own is an event by Nike, which brings together the two realms of sportswear and fashion. In order to do so, once a year, the label invites talented stylists to work together with famous sports personalities to set the scene for items from the current Nike collection. As could be seen on the evening of January 17, this was certainly a challenge for all concerned.
