The Parisian record and fashion label April77 has been hatching plans with designer Calla Haynes. The Toronto-born Canadian become well known for her unusual digital prints and the use of luxurious materials like silk, fish leather and handwoven ikats from Uzbekistan.

Groundwater contamination and inhumane working conditions on plantations. Those are only a few of the textile industry's negative attributes. And: they are increasingly becoming fervently discussed topics of conversation. So it seems only logical that Berlin, Germany's fashion-capital, steps up to the challenge to introduce a contemporary platform for the topic: the Ethical Fashion Show.

14 oz., the Berlin-based multi-label store owned by Bread & Butter boss Karl-Heinz Müller will soon be available in two versions. In autumn 2012 a second store is opening on the Kurfürstendamm in Charlottenburg, Berlin. To mark the event, a big party was held on 8 December in the unfinished rooms of the historic Cumberland building.

The Austrian label with a long tradition in outdoor wear, Schneiders, is putting its head together with the avant-garde London label Peter Pilotto. For the 'Schneiders by Peter Pilotto' capsule collection the two heads behind the label - Tyrolean Peter Pilotto and the Belgian with Peruvian roots, Christopher De Vos - got inspired by the traditional textiles and the craftsmanship at Schneiders Salzburg.
